USAID Annex Building

Designed as an addition to the operational existing embassy compound, this Office Building project borrows the design vocabulary of the embassy to create an ensemble of buildings that spatially enclose the representational entrance plaza. Public plazas and employee gardens highlight the granite-clad three-story building, while interior spaces designed around a central core optimize day lighting. The glass enclosed fire-rated stair and its roof monitor provide natural light throughout the elevator lobbies. Sustainability features include water conservation, daylight harvesting, and sunshades, and canopies in response to climate conditions. Incorporating the latest technical, physical and environmental security features, the Annex was completed within 14 months using Design-Build delivery.
