Angela_Hernandez

Angela Hernandez's design solutions enable her end users to fluidly navigate their daily processes for either the work or home environment, and she brings a passion for sustainable design in the interior built environment to KCCT's Interiors Studio. Angela attended graduate school at Aalto University in Finland, where her master's thesis was commissioned by a Finnish interior design and architecture firm that would ultimately hire her as an interior design intern and researcher. Throughout her graduate studies, she contributed to several client-based projects as part of a collaboration effort organized by her university, and she leveraged her pattern design minor to sell several prints that would appear as consumer products on the Finnish market.

As the daughter of a general contractor, Angela's fascination with the built environment was piqued as she accompanied her father to site visits, to retrieve building permits, and to pore over blueprints. Her early understanding of the processes required to successfully execute a design project informed her career decisions and her design approach, in which a thorough appreciation of the needs of the end user is paramount. A creative both in and out of the workplace, she enjoys crafting, repurposing old textiles, and participating in local events, such as the Creative Mornings monthly talk.
