Kristin King's design approach is predicated upon strong communication and evidence-based research. With each project, she prioritizes a clear understanding of end user needs and the factors that will impact them, ensuring that those considerations remain at the forefront of decision-making throughout the design process. Across her project typologies of specialty—which include institutional and higher education facilities, as well as large-scale entertainment, retail, and hospitality spaces—she applies her passion for accessibility and equity in both the physical design and across the field itself.
An itinerant upbringing took Kristin all around the world, exposing her to different social, political, economic, religious, and cultural factors that shape how people engage with their environment. She views interior architecture and design as an opportunity to continue that education and apply her experience in a meaningful, creative way. Prior to joining KCCT's interiors studio, she lived and worked in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Kristin's creativity extends to her free time, where she enjoys making furniture and light fixtures and playing the piano.
