Blair House
The Blair house complex consists of four houses which were joined to create a single facility. The nucleus is the original Blair house constructed in 1824 and acquired by the government in 1942. The original Blair House is a National Historic Landmark. The Jackson Place buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Jackson Place Historic District.
KCCT was requested by the Department of State/RPM to survey the building roof and exterior in response to recurring leaks and moisture related problems on the interior of the building. The survey included the original wood entablature, wood windows, and roofing. Because of security concerns scaffolding could not be erected. KCCT rented a mobile crane, and using a suspended working platform completed the survey without adversely affecting either security or the government's use of the building.
