Washington, DC (September 2018)

KCCT participated in the International Interior Design Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s Washington Metro City Center Cosmo Couture DC fundraising event on September 20th, 2018, at the Washington National Cathedral. The event fostered a direct collaboration between local Architecture and Interior Design firms and their manufacturing partners in the DC area, to create garments reflecting a given theme. The garments were judged during a runway show and awards were given to design teams in different categories.

The event’s theme this year was “Lore.” Lore is defined as a body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.

KCCT worked in collaboration with Koroseal to create the dress for the event. After weeks of designing, the KCCT team got a chance to showcase their design (see the video). The team – Elizabeth Esposito, Sosa Erhabor, Charis Armstrong, Nisha Tiwari and model, Alsa Muco – was awarded the “Best Use of Materials” award.

A portion of the proceeds from the event were donated to Love 4 Livi, a support group for a local woman who was injured in an accident.
