New U.S. Consulate
KCCT designed the renovation of the existing Paigah Palace and its annex building into the new Interim Consulate Facility. Design and construction was completed in less than one year. Given the historic nature of the building, the improvements to the two-story building and 9.8 hectare site are designed to be reversible and minimize alterations to the landscape, building exterior and interior historic spaces. Security is enhanced through site physical security improvements, perimeter wall upgrades, a new Compound Access Control (CAC) building, building envelope upgrades, and technical security systems. The renovation work includes new site utility infrastructure, interior renovation and furnishings, and new electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and data/telecommunications systems.
